Introducing Hider with stunning debut “You Look So Amazing”

“Everything I could have done, everything I should have said” – the opening line to Hider’s debut “You Look So Amazing” speaks of lost time and regret. It’s a fitting introductory theme for an individual who unintentionally took a six year break from making music as a solo artist.

Whether it was selling guitars along London’s legendary Denmark Street, or producing other artists’ work, or writing soundtracks for countless big name brand adverts, such as Porsche, Skoda and trailers for The Walking Dead and 2015 film Suffragette.

While the past six years have provided invaluable and varied experiences, Hider felt lost. Now, it’s time for this musician to engage with his creative soul once again, putting the most close to his heart first and foremost.

Speaking on why this reignited singer-songwriter chose the name Hider, “I guess for the last six years, I feel like I’ve been in hiding. It has been great to have success writing music for ads and trailers, but I’ve been itching to do my own thing again for a while now. I want Hider to be all about the music, I don’t have a personal Facebook and I don’t want Hider to get sucked into social media, posting ungenuine content. I also don’t like having my photo taken.”

The video for “You Look So Amazing” was directed by Lukasz Pytlik and depicts two central characters, as the children they were and the adults they became, both carrying the sense of earning for one another. Missed opportunity is a feeling many of us can connect with, and here the connection is made with addictive alt-dance rhythms, subtle synth keys, acoustic guitar and Hider’s voice which dives to steady lows and at other times almost breaks with genuine emotion.
