Following last year’s acclaimed album ‘Total Depravity,’ The Veils return with a new acoustic EP and full UK tour, including a performance at Festival No.6.
“We’re very excited to be touring the U.K. again, and playing Festival Number 6 in Portmerion is obviously incredible,” says front man Finn Andrews. “It’s been exciting recording this little live EP and stripping back the songs from the record, I think you can really hear something different in the songs this way.”
The ‘Acoustic Session at Roundhead’ EP is out April 14 and features acoustic versions of three tacks from the album, the title track ‘Total Depravity,’ ‘Swimming with Crocodiles’ and ‘House of Spirits.’ Recorded on the band’s recent New Zealand tour, the EP was made at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios in Auckland.
Having recently completed a world tour, the band return to UK shores in September to play 8 dates across the country, including Leeds, Glasgow, Norwich, Manchester, Brighton, Bristol, London and Festival No.6 in Portmerion.
This year lead singer Finn Andrews can also be seen in David Lynch’s hugely anticipated new series of Twin Peaks, launching on May 21st, but until it’s aired can’t reveal any details about his involvement. “Beyond the fact that Finn Andrews is in Twin Peaks, I can’t say a word. But I was very excited to do it. There’s only a few people I’ve been in awe of my whole adult life; Tom Waits is one, and David Lynch is another. I’ve loved everything David has made, so it was amazing being close to him while he worked.”
The new EP – ‘Acoustic Session at Roundhead’ is out April 14. The album ‘Total Depravity’ is out now.
