INTERVIEW: The Phantoms

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Yeah we have been good. Busy with the single and putting our live set together. Excited to play a few live shows!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Shadows”?

We wanted to try something a bit different, but still keeping it us and to our identity. So we felt Shadows was the perfect song for this.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Not that I can think of – most of my songs just happen. It’s about missing someone and not looking back. So I guess that inspired it.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was fun! We really enjoyed working with Michael and Ross at Rocket Science guiding us. They took us to different avenues with this song.

What role does Kasabian play on your music?

Kasabian will always be that band to us. They are so constant with their music, it’s so inspirational. So they play as massive part in what we do.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Yeah I have a few ideas and a couple of songs we are going to work on in the coming month. I think a new song will be out before the year is done.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Nothing yet, I won’t release anything unless its good and I like it. As long as I like it, it’s the main thing!

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes absolutely, watch this space…

What else is happening next in The Phantoms’ world?

Gigs, beers and meeting new people!
