Jenn Grant has just released a special B-sides track “Beautiful And The Brave” which she wrote to draw attention to victims of gun violence. She notes,“This song, ‘Beautiful and The Brave,’ was written in honour of those who were tragically killed in The Charleston Church Massacre, The Orlando shooting, and for Philando Castille who was shot and killed by a police officer in front of his 4 year old daughter.
Unfortunately, incidents like these have become too many to count. With the recent and devastating news of the shooting at the Quebec City Mosque, I have decided to use this song to take a stand for humanity and justice, for all people of all genders, sexual orientations, religions, races, classes, and all nationalities.
All proceeds for ‘Beautiful and The Brave’ will go to ‘The Coalition Against Gun Violence‘. An organization who seek to secure freedom from gun violence through research, strategic engagement and effective policy advocacy.”
Jenn Grant has just released a new album, Paradise, of which Consequence of Sound noted, “she’s emerged from a musical cocoon with a wider vision, but also more intimate touch, even drawing on inspirations well beyond the earthly and physical.” The album is the follow up to 2014’s Compostela which earned the singer two Juno nominations in her native Canada — for both Songwriter as well as Contemporary Album of the Year. Today’s single does not appear on the album. Jenn is currently on tour – dates are listed below.
