Swedish stars Naomi Pilgrim and Frida Sundemo lead the line up for the forthcoming ‘ROAR’ club night at The Victoria, Dalston on April 25th. The evening celebrates the finest in female talent and the singers, who are both signed to leading Scandinavian record label Cosmos Music, are joined by London’s ECKOES.
Naomi Pilgrim was born in Sweden to a Barbadian father and Swedish mother, and has spent her life between the two countries. Her songs marry exquisite Swedish pop and Caribbean reggae, alongside smooth R&B and hip hop.
Naomi recently released a rework of The Specials’ 1983 single ‘Racist Friend’, alongside an all female, international hip-hop cast, comprising the rappers Sa-Roc (US) and Yugen Blakrok (South Africa). The single has been described by Huck Magazine as, “the most timely song of all time,” and Clash called it, “A sensational recording issued with perfect timing…” amongst a wealth of further praise.
Stockholm alt-pop songstress Frida Sundemo released her euphoric new single ‘We Are Dreamers’ last year to high profile support from the likes of FAULT, Line Of Best Fit, V Magazine, Idolator and many more. ‘We Are Dreamers’ followed the release of ‘Heroes’, which featured in the Hollywood movie Kill Your Friends. Frida made her big screen debut in the film with a leading role alongside Nicholas Hoult and James Corden, providing three songs in total for the soundtrack. Her new single will be announced very soon.
