“Deliverance comes from a really a bad personal experience.” says Tinashé of Rationale “I guess you could say that this is one for anyone out there who’s ever had trouble letting go…” and who can say they’ve never experienced that?
Established as a firm favourite in his live sets, ‘Deliverance’ finds Rationale’s superlative talent at its very best, as he expertly delivers a vocal that balances power, subtlety and a rich maelstrom of emotions. His understated production on the track allows the drama of his voice to flourish, while the supporting backing vocals add a mesmerising gospel atmosphere.
Deliverance follows Rationale’s sophomore EP Vessels, an incredible 4-track body of work that summarised exactly where the project was and everything Tinashé has been trying to achieve. The EP was received very well, with both Vessels and Prodigal Son reaching #1 on HypeM.
Rationale’s debut track ‘Fast Lane’ proved to be a hugely popular introduction to his talents as it debuted at #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart. Following up this amazing start, his tracks are also now approaching 28 million streams on Spotify.
Rationale’s live shows inspire a fervent reaction within his growing fan-base, as evidenced by his recent sold-out UK headline tour and by his arena dates as guest to Bastille. His show at Heaven inspired The Evening Standard to note that the audience’s reaction was “astonishing for an artist yet to release an album.” Mixmag joined the chorus of approval with their review of his Glasgow date: “His voice is the star of the show, sliding smoothly between a gorgeously peaking Anohni-style falsetto and rich baritone.”
