SOG Crew Announce Tour

2017 SOG Crew Hawaii Hip Hop Tour is almost here. The tour will begin March 22nd through April 2nd visiting churches, schools, communities, prisons, homeless shelters, rehab centers and music festivals. S.O.G. Crew has made a name for themselves working consistently with the youth on the islands for many years.

Tour stops will take place at Hawaii Baptist Academy (HBA) private school located in Honolulu. Hawaii Baptist Academy is a Christian college-preparatory school that equips students spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally, so that they bring honor to God. One of the big stops will take place at the Women’s Community Correctional Center in Kailua, HI. WCCC is the only women’s prison in Hawaii. It also serves the needs of pre-trial and sentenced female offenders. The facility houses female offenders who are of maximum, medium and minimum custody levels.

The tour will make a visit with long time partners Victory Outreach Hawaiian Islands on Sunday Morning March 26th at both services. Victory Outreach is an international, church-oriented Christian ministry called to the task of evangelizing and discipling the hurting people of the world, with the message of hope and plan of Jesus Christ. That same evening they will rock the world famous North Shore visiting the community thanks to Praise Chapel. Praise Chapel Hawaii, is a product of Michael Neville’s vision the father of Gospel Hip Hop Legend Pastor Jason “FrosT” Neville.

The Crew will be bringing to the islands their style of Hip Hop, dance, Latin, RnB, reggae and worship with the motive to edify the beautiful people of Hawaii with a message of hope in Christ Jesus. You definitely do not want to miss this experience. They have been honored to faithfully work with young people, young adults, inmates and military families of Hawaii for over fifteen years serving most communities.

The S.O.G Crew (Sons of God) is a Gospel Hip-Hop group based out of Anaheim, CA. They break modes creating a new genre of hip-hop being dubbed ‘cause music.’ More than music; it’s a message of hope, encouragement and influence. Their Fighting 4 Love album distributed through Thump Records/ Universal Music Group is the Crew’s 4th album in almost a 20 year career. Since its inception, the SOG Crew Hip Hop Ministry has been a cutting edge youth and multimedia ministry which has been able to reach and positively impact a youthful audience by planting seeds of proactive pursuits and accomplishments through their message. For the youth they have reached, it has served as a positive enabler, a source of nurturing; and sometimes an exercise in prevention education against gangs, drugs and violence as a way of life.

The SOG Crew Youth Movement was founded by Dr. Melissa Evans Ornelas and is led by Dr. Robert “Battle Ax” Ornelas of Anaheim, California. Pastor Robert has faithfully opened doors for many of the young people that have been part of the SOG experience. He has taken these young people and the Hip Hop ministry across the nation to share and impact youth where ever they have been. He is a Christian leader that has used music, encouragement, and prevention messages to make a difference and to share Christ. Battle Ax as he is known has been trailblazing the Hip hop scene since the 90’s. Dr. Ornelas has a TV Show on the Cross TV reaching over 2 billion people around the world. He is a Bishop, Hip Hop artist, author, actor, radio and TV host, youth advocate, entrepreneur, and politician.

“I am so honored to have the opportunity to visit the great people of Hawaii. We have built a strong following over the years on most islands reaching out to youth and families through our style of music. We are so excited to see all our people and looking forward to meeting new family. We will be on tour for a week then I will have have the privilege to vacation for an extra seven days with my beautiful wife and sons. Yes I am excited,” stated Battle Ax

Robert “Battle Ax” Ornelas and Melissa live in Anaheim along with their sons Jaycob and Joshua. Their 24 year old son Robert Jr. is currently pioneering new territories in Canada thanks to their First Nations family.
