Ian Janco Release Debut single ‘Life’

Ian Janco releases his debut single ‘Life’, his first musical offering since moving to Liverpool from across the pond. Listen here

‘Life’ is a joyful, folk/pop propelled slice of adoration. The track is a faultless example of Ian’s unerring ability to write a chorus that is equal parts catchy and endearing. “Life”, says Ian, “is about missing somebody, and telling them that you love them and want only the best for them.”

Becoming a musician was no surprise given his upbringing; he grew up on an isolated ranch in Idaho, USA, owned by his role model and recent mentor, Carole King. You’d be right in thinking that having a legend such as King in your life would wield pressure, but that’s not the way Ian saw it. “She’s always been my inspiration to do what I do. Carole has always been someone I’ve looked up to as an example of the impact that song writing and artistry can have on the world. The support she’s given me, especially in the last few years, has been pivotal. I’m hugely grateful to have her as a role model and a friend.”

Ian Janco draws influence from a wide spectrum of artists ranging from The Beatles to Bob Dylan. With a voice akin to Ray Lamontagne‘s raw expressiveness coupled with Ben Howard‘s clear, cool delivery, Janco isn’t afraid to cross genres and bend the rules of pop song writing. “I hope this song makes people happy.” Ian tells us. “It’s really as simple as that.”
