Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We’ve been great, thanks. We’ve just released a U.S. version of ‘Back To Where I Begun’ today so it’s an exciting time for us.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Back To Where I Begun”?

It’s a song about life and struggles that come with it, about contemplating starting over when you’re close to the point of no return.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

No, it was written based on our own life experiences more than anything else but it wasn’t influenced by a particular event.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

We released a video for track last year that you can find on Youtube.

How was the recording and writing process?

‘Back To Where I Begun’ was the first song we wrote together so it felt great when it clicked and we knew we were onto something. Recording with our producer Philip Magee was amazing….hearing the track come to life was very important for us.

What was it like to work with Philip Magee and how did that relationship develop?

Working with Phil is an absolute pleasure. Immediately we clicked and we’ve just become more comfortable working together ever since. We’d think of Phil as a good friend now.

How much did he influence the song?

Phil is full of ideas and he helped us with a few things structurally that really worked.

What role does Ireland plays in your music?

Growing up in Dublin was a huge influence on us musically. You’re surrounded by so much live music that it has to effect you. A few our friends play in bands too and there’s a lot of great new acts in Ireland so it makes for a really good music scene.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Yeah, we have a number of new singles ready to release throughout the year we’re really excited about.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

‘All I’ve Ever Known’ will be our second single but we have no release date as of yet. Expect to see more from us in the next few months.

Any plans to hit the road?

Not yet but we’re ready to tour when the time is right,

What else is happening next in Motions’ world?

At the moment it’s all go, releases, writing, gigs, working with some great people and getting heard. For us it’s all about the songs and if people like them that’s great!
