Jenn Grant new album “Paradise” Out March 3! Now streaming at “Consequence Of Sound”

Jenn Grant‘s upcoming album Paradise will be released this FridayMarch 3, 2017 via Ba Da Bing Records. Today Consequence of Sound streams the album in its entirety.   Grant told the magazine she considers Paradise her “most adventurous and deliberate work” and they note, “compared to its predecessor, which was penned shortly after the passing of her mother, this new 11-track effort finds Grant amidst something of a rebirthing process – she’s emerged from a musical cocoon with a wider vision, but also more intimate touch, even drawing on inspirations well beyond the earthly and physical.”

Grant recently shared the title track which you can listen to here and the single “Galaxies” of which Stereogum said Jenn is “creating something that’s both a bit familiar and a little otherworldly” and Baeble noted “it delivered so much hope, and her voice…is strong and comforting…it feels like she’s opening up her arms to you.”

Jenn will be touring North America, the UK and Ireland in support of Paradise and the dates include a stop in NYC on March 9 at Rockwood Music Hall.

Paradise is the follow up to 2014’s Compostela which earned Grant two Juno nominations in her native Canada — for both Songwriter as well as Contemporary Album of the Year.  Grant and husband, producer Daniel Ledwell, took a year in their home studio to craft Paradise.  Compostela, was written after the loss of her mother and whereas that record was “of the stars” and based on her own personal experience of loss, Paradise points the compass towards the epic and intimate. It marks her most adventurous and deliberate work she’s ever done.

The two years of crafting and shaping, interrupted occasionally by the journeys of a busy touring musician on the road, gives Paradise a new dimension of sonic beauty and melodic landscapes that touches upon balladry, R&B and Electronic music along the way.  Grant notes, “I also thought about my singing much more. I feel like I am a completely different artist from when I began performing. I don’t feel like I really heard my own voice until recently.”
