NOVELLA share video for title track of newest album “Change Of State.”

On the heels of the release of their new album Change Of State, Novella have just shared a video for the LP’s title track.  It premiered via Brooklyn Vegan who noted the album, “continues their trek though hazy, motorik territory.”  Watch “Change Of State

Change Of State was released February 17 via Sinderlyn. On the album the London-based band juxtapose their signature dreamy and lush music with lyrics that speak to the politics of today.  Prior to its’ release Novella shared the singles “Thun” and “Does The Island Know.”

Change Of State was recorded over the period of a few months in the Victorian bedroom studio of James Hoare (Ultimate Painting, Veronica Falls) on an old 1960’s 8-track, this set up forced Novella to utilize an economy of sound on the album. They discovered that there’s beauty in simplicity and restriction as nothing could be gratuitously added or subtracted with the click of a mouse. It lent, what the band call a little Joe Meek magic to the process, and what could have been an added pressure instead gave way to instinct.
