Hey guys, Stoner here. Thanks very much for the opportunity! We’ve been really great. Very excited to roll out some new music. Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Long Goodnight”?
“Long Goodnight” is the first single off of our new record of the same name.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
The song came about during a really weird point in my life. I had been living in Los Angeles for almost 10 years, and the bottom had just dropped out. Everything seemed to fall apart at the same time, as things tend to do. One day I woke up and it all just hit me – that chapter in my life was over. It’s a really difficult thing to deal with, doors closing. So I turned to the only thing that has ever gotten me out of a head space like that – music.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
We have been tossing around some ideas, but there’s nothing concrete yet…
How was the recording and writing process?
The song is a year or two old, so it’s been around for a while. The recording process was pretty seamless, everything just kind of fell into place.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yes! It’s part of an EP we’re finishing up right now. We’re about 75% done with the mixing phase, then it’s on to mastering, and release.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
We’re shooting for a late March/early April release date, and the album is titled Long Goodnight.
Any plans to hit the road?
We’re doing shows here and there, and working toward getting on the road this summer.
What else is happening next in Thieves & Lovers’ world?
Right now we’re gearing up for the promotional cycle for the album. It’s going to be an exciting year!
