Today, rapper and producer NAV releases his highly anticipated debut mixtape, NAV. The self-titled effort includes 11 tracks, all written, produced and mixed by NAV. Metro Boomin, DannyBoy Styles and Rex Kudo contribute co-production on a handful of tracks. The mixtape is NAV’S first release under XO/Republic Records and includes previously released songs “Some Way” featuring The Weeknd, as well as viral hits “Up” and “Myself.”
After bursting onto the scene in 2015, NAV has made a colossal amount of noise. Preferring to let his music do the talking, NAV has ranked in over 100 million plays on his SoundCloud page, all while releasing self-produced songs straight to his ever-growing fan base. Recently, NAV teased fans by announcing his upcoming collaborative music project with Metro Boomin, Perfect Timing, set for release at a TBD date this year. The two most recently collaborated on NAV’s own track, “Up,” which appears on his self-titled mixtape and has received well over 21 million streams as of the release of NAV.
Already having established himself as a go-to producer, NAV has become a disruptive voice in the industry, recently being featured on “Biebs in the Trap,” the fan-favorite single from Travis Scott’s 2016 album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight and “Re-Up” from Belly’sInzombia project, both of which NAV produced. In 2015, NAV also co-produced Drake’s Grammy-nominated track “Back to Back.” NAV is set to make his live debut this spring, performing his first-ever shows at Coachella on Saturday, April 13 and 22. With more soon to come, including a recently filmed music video for “Some Way,” NAV is already the quintessential artist to watch in 2017 and is poised for a massive breakthrough year.
