INTERVIEW: Louis Rustum

Hi Louis, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Im goood ! Im relieved to release new music again !

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Classified”?

“Classified” is the first single from my forthcoming EP produced by my two friends from Orbit Crew. I’ve been really happy to release it as I felt like we creatively opened up a lot of new doors after we made it. I wanted to make something which reflected my development and curiosity for trying out new things.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

I think it was highly inspired by a girl I know who seemed impossible to convince, which really frustrated me. So somehow I felt like I had to explain to her how I would win her.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yees, but reveal to much yet:)

How was the recording and writing process?

We did the recording in a house in Malaga, which made the writing process much more comfortable than usual. I hadn’t recorded for a long time, so I was pretty thirsty when we began working on the song which it made everything flow very naturally.

What role does 80s plays in your music?

A lot ! I basically haven’t heard anything but 70s and 80s music the last couple of years because I fell in love with its simplicity and ability to implement astonishing stories into dance music.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

I have a lot of new music which is done and ready to be heard by the world so im excited for this year as I feel like we’ve done some of our best work so far.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

The title for the EP is “Classified” and will be come out soon !

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes, right now we’re setting up some different shows and looking forward to the summer.

What else is happening next in Louis Rustum’s world?

Just enjoying the release right now, recording with different artists and hopefully going traveling soon!
