Odd Future founding member and rapper Hodgy has released a new video, directed by Open The Portal, for his latest single “Glory” today. “Glory,” produced by Hi-Tek, is the second single from Hodgy’s major label debut album Fireplace: TheNotTheOtherSide, which was released in December via Columbia Records.
Speaking on the video, Hodgy says:
“Glory was an introspective animation, through the lens of a view finder.
Addressing internal challenges and new found growth, I recognized, change was at hand.
The video’s execution was something I was bound to reach with an amazing collective, ‘Open The Portal’
I would arrive at their DTLA workspace with Trenton, where we created a chemical synergy, bringing us to the video’s treatment and later on, product.”
Hodgy is set to perform on a handful of tour dates in California with BadBadNotGood, including Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Ana, beginning next week. See full list of dates below, and for ticket information please visit www.hodgymiyagi.com
A 13-track LP, Fireplace: TheNotTheOtherSide features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and Salomon Faye as well as production from BadBadNotGood, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Knxwledge, 88-Keys Nottz, Rahki, Jonti and more, a diverse array of artists to help bring life to tracks like the Rahki-helmed “Resurrection,” where Hodgy converses with God, and “Laguna,” which sees him expressing his passage way through in life.
Fireplace is the culmination of years of hard work both in and out of Odd Future.
