Following on from her critically-acclaimed debut release ‘Welcome to the Kingdom’ – picking up support from WONDERLAND and The 405 amongst others – London singer/songwriter Ellie Rose comes through with her first taste of new material for 2017 in ‘Plastic City’. Again the emerging artist has created a track with subtle nods to 80s soundcscapes, lacing it with the kind of timeless pop hooks that sound right at home in the frenetic personal lives of 2017. It’s another impressively crafted track laden with nostalgic references to a bad breakup.
Supporting fellow one-to watch Calum Scott on his sold out dates at Hull’s City Hall on 2nd March and London’s KOKO on 14th March, Ellie’s own first headline show alongside her band at The Old Blue Last in January was a sell out and proved the young songstress knows how to work an audience. Speaking on the track, and the breakup – Ellie states: “I just felt like I deserved a better ending, so I wrote one”. Listen here
