LA based alt/pop group Charming Liars have treated fans to a live video of their current single “Soul.” The video features an all-star caliber performance of a track that has been making waves across the country – and the Atlantic – with Sir Elton John singing the song’s praises on his Beats 1 radio show. The anthemic live video can be seen here.
Charming Liars have also announced their first show of the year, a gig at the legendary local Troubadour on February 23rd, a venue familiar with the band’s packed shows and devoted Los Angeles following. Indie pop group Flagship will also be performing and tickets are available here.
2016 saw “Soul” gain traction over the alternative and rock airwaves, but the year also brought the song’s television debut. The band’s signature track was featured on an episode of the acclaimed TV Land American comedy, Younger back in November.
In addition, the track “Wild” was recently added to Elton John’s Spotify “Loves” playlist, that features fellow artists Ed Sheeran and indie-pop favorites The xx. “Wild,” like “Soul,” was also recently highlighted in an episode of Elton John’s “Rocket Hour” Beats 1 podcast. Both “Wild” and “Soul” are featured on the band’s ‘12:31AM’ record, which received critical praise upon its release.
Anthem Review called the record “Built to impress,” while Circles and Soundwaves called it “reinvigorating” and “anthemic.” Fans can purchase the record on iTunes now.
