On March 12th Universal Music Canada in partnership with the Hard Rock Cafe will celebrate the 30th anniversary of U2’s iconic album, The Joshua Tree at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Toronto.

The curated celebration will feature a conversation with and performance by Daniel Lanois’, the co-producer of The Joshua Tree. This 1987 chart-topping album, heralded as one of the world’s best-selling albums with over 25 million copies sold,  brought us mega-hits such as, “With Or Without You”, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and  “Where The Streets Have No Name”. The album won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance.

The night will also include the U2 tribute band ACROBAT who will be performing The Joshua Tree in its entirety as well as many more hits later in the evening.  In July of 2015, U2 fulfilled every tribute band members’ ultimate dream by inviting ACROBAT onstage to perform “Desire” in front of 22,000 fans at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. Lead singer Gabriel Pate says, “The Joshua Tree unquestionably lands in the top albums of all time lists of not only U2 fans, but also music lovers in general. We are humbled and gratified to be able to present a tribute to the 30-year anniversary of one of the most beloved works of music of any artist in history.” For more information on ACROBAT click here.

The festivities will continue with a screening of ‘Classic Albums: The Joshua Tree’ and a music industry panel discussing The Joshua Tree and other U2 stories.  Fans in attendance will be able to peruse and purchase U2 merchandise, deluxe editions of the band’s famous work, box sets, and vinyl at the U2 Pop-Up Shop on site.
