PRIDES STREAM NEW SINGLE ‘AWAY WITH THE NIGHT’

Glaswegian Prides return with a renewed fire and fight inspired by a spirit of independence permeating their home town. Their music has always had an instant connection and felt right at home in every possible environment, just like recently on the hallowed turf of Murrayfield Stadium right through to TV screens around the country on a recent TV add. This sense of freedom and fun flows through everything Prides do, be that huge pop hooks screamed to sweaty rooms, intimate acoustic piano sessions or covers of their favourite forgotten 80’s Scottish pop hero’s. Watch here

Prides have been carving up something new. Every fibre of their operation from their live shows to recordings have been informed by personal experiences and yearning questions. This honesty and purity showcases their trademark wisdom, experience and strong feeling of national identity.

Prides are Stewart Brock and Callum Wiseman, as a band they have re-energised and re-set, bringing in a rotating cast of Glasgow musicians to beef up the live show whilst still working with long term producer Lewis Gardiner. Be it full-blown pop bangers, or heart wrenching piano versions Prides want to put it all on the line rather than be bound by the reception of an end product.

Prides are doing things their own way, on the new single Stewart says;

“It’s here! Away With the Night is a song that Callum started on a flight into New York, and has lived in our back pockets for a while now. It was the first track we knew had to go on this new album, and we’re really excited to finally let you hear it!

Lyrically it’s a track I wrote as a response to a certain someone, who put a lot of expectation onto what/where we were, and ended up writing a song about me. This is my version of events.

Share it, love it, shout about it! And let me know if you’ve got any ex-fling stories, cause I bet I’ve got you beat!”

‘Away With The Night’ is out now.

Tour Dates:

20th March – The Flapper, Birmingham 21st March – Scala, London
