Harts has signed to Washington Square Music, an imprint of Razor & Tie. The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer’s unique brand of equal parts pop, electro, funk, rock, showmanship and irresistible melodies sits comfortably between the turn-of-the-century production wizardry of The Neptunes and Timbaland and the primal Monterey Jazz Festival fret-burning of ‘67 Hendrix. It was this combination of things that led the late, great Prince to personally invite Harts to Paisley Park Studios and proclaim “he reminds me of myself at that age.”
Beyond performing for Prince, Harts has enchanted audiences around the globe with ground-shaking performances at Splendour In The Grass, Pinkpop Festival, Stereosonic and more in addition to touching down in North America for CMJ 2015 and SXSW 2016. The virtuoso will release his stateside debut (Smoke Fire Hope Desire) this summer, and after finding massive success in Australia – Harts has his sights set on the U.S.
“It’s no secret the US birthed and nurtured a lot of the music and artists that influenced me to become what I am today,” said Harts. “I’ve had my heart set on establishing myself, and a fan base for myself here for many years. I’m thrilled to now be working with the team at Washington Square to make that happen. I’m excited for the journey ahead and I’m looking forward to spending time, finding success in the US.”
“Harts is a sensation,” says Washington Square/Razor & Tie Co-Owner Cliff Chenfeld. “It is rare to see a new artist who both can write amazing, undeniable songs and play every instrument on his album. Harts is the real deal and we are very excited to be his partner.”
