Hi Yonee, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been amazing! Super busy getting ready to release paradise and heading to fashion week in NYC and London!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Paradise”?

Yes ! So paradise is my second single off of my EP, Four Corners, and this song has had a pretty awesome  interesting journey. I wanted to write a record that was super anthemic that you could play in the car cruisin down the freeway or put on at a big party on the beach! I love creating songs that can be listened to in different settings and vibes!

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

This song was one of those songs that came to fruition over a couple of years. I actually wrote the lead mandolin melody when I was at the university of chicago and it was one of things that just organically molded over time with my overall vision staying strong on what I wanted to do with the song!

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes ! We have an amazing video for this song which looks so good! Super excited to share that!

The single comes off your new album 4 Corners – what’s the story behind the title?

So the idea behind 4 Corners is that in every relationship I have and I think in others there are 4 main conditions  experienced. Paradise being the state of bliss, bombs of my love being the tepid cautiousness/ thrill of falling into love and once you hear the others it will come full circle (no pun intended) lol! Whether or not it was intentional that I wrote these four songs with these experiences/emotions I can’t tell you, but the universe works in mysterious ways !

How was the recording and writing process?

It was an amazing collaborative process with a couple fellow songwriters of mine. We recorded the instruments  and vocals in LA but wrote a bunch it in Nashville so it added this country pop flare that I love! So lucky to work with so many talented people!

How has Nashville have influence you as an artist?

Well I’m a huge fan of crossing into different territories to explore different sounds and fuse styles ! I think that way you hear cool new things that otherwise you wouldn’t hear if you stayed in your own bubble! So when I record stuff in Nashville that’s the goal!

What aspect of your musical journey are you exploring on this record?

This record is the fun loving exciting yonee that I want people to connect with (all different people, age etc). There’s a darker sexy side that is soon to follow after this EP that will give you a different look at me as a person and artist!

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes! We will be doing a ton of shows in London as well as doing a full radio tour in the U.K. To promote paradise so be on the lookout for that !

What else is happening next in Yonee’s world?

The yonee world is full of traveling, fun, music, friends family and More music right now! Constantly working on the next project and it’s so awesome! So I’m just ready to share all my music with the world!
