Great! Thank you! We’ve been hard at work and we’re excited to be releasing some material!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Into The Night”?
It’s a song of longing and voyeurism and “what if” told through the perspective of a fictional character.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
Not a singular event but just a lifetime of people watching.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
A video would be amazing! We’ve had some discussions but hopefully we can make it happen.
How was the recording and writing process?
Brendan wrote the original draft and together we wrote the other parts. Recording the vocals was a bit challenging since we really wanted all the layers to stay tight together. We also wanted to make the recording sound as close to our live performance as possible.
How do you blend your jazz influences with pop?
It’s less of an intention and more of some of our members having inherent jazz tendencies while others have more folk or pop tendencies. It’s really great because it helps us all grow as musicians to hear something that individually we could never have come up with.
Does one style in particular would shine out the most depending on the lyrics’ theme?
It’s less on the lyrics and more on the overall feel and theme of the song. Though sometimes lyrics do play a big part in that.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yes! We are working on a full length album. We’re about halfway through!
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
At the moment we are planning on either releasing a few more singles or an EP while we finish up the full length. Either one should be within the next few months.
Any plans to hit the road?
We want to really focus on getting as much material out and building a fanbase before really hitting the road. In the meantime we’ll be playing local shows in the LA/Southern CA area. We have an acoustic show at Bar 20 in Hollywood on February 18.
