Breakout artist ALMA releases two remixes for “Dye My Hair” track. The Branchez remix is in an epic, floor-filler track that breaks off into euphoric vibes you can’t help but to move along to, whilst the Lenno remix which was named Track of the Day on CLASH builds on a more chilled out, distorted vocal into electro bliss.
In the space of a year, twenty-one year old ALMA has taken the world of music by storm. Having recently won two EMMA awards (equivalent of the Grammys) in her native Finland for Best Newcomer and Best Export, the neon-green haired newcomer is a force to be reckoned with.
It all started with the release of ‘Karma’ – a beautiful ode to vengeance boasting over 15 million Spotify streams, followed by debut EP ‘Dye My Hair’ (check it out onSpotify), a collection of irresistibly bold tracks which present an artist with the rare ability to speak from the heart and connect with her fans. Check out the video for Dye My Hair here, directed by Youth Hymns (Wolf Alice, Slaves, Ladyhawke, Lusts & Vant).
Selected as a ‘New Name’ to watch by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 and MistaJam’s ‘Jam Hot’ record on BBC 1 XTRA, ALMA smashed her first ever Radio 1 live performance for the Future Festival alongside Jorja Smith, Nadia Rose, The Amazons, The Big Moon, Dave and more. Having already supported MØ in Helsinki in December and giving an unforgettable show in Hoxton Bar last year, it looks set to be a phenomenal 2017 for the newcomer, with performances at TGE and Annie Mac’s next AMP collected show at the Jazz Café (March 23rd) with RAY BLK also in the line-up.
With her powerful vocals there’s an edge to ALMA that distinguishes her from the herd and singles her out as a talent to watch.
