RICKY REED Releases Video for “Be the 1” – Out Now on Epic Records

On the heels of the release of his solo single “Be the 1” last week on Epic Records, acclaimed artist and GRAMMY®-nominated multi-platinum producer/songwriter Ricky Reed has released a brand new video to accompany the song. The visually striking black-and-white animated video, which premiered via Cravewas directed and hand-drawn by Ricky himself and features a geometric self-portrait style and swirling cosmic graphics that echo the song’s space odyssey of synthesizers. “Be the 1,” which offers up a propulsive soul groove, deep drums and an earworm melody, is from Ricky’s forthcoming solo album on Epic Records.

Ricky, who is currently gracing the cover of Music Connection, is nominated for a GRAMMY® for Producer of the Year. His work includes an impressive list of chart-topping songs for many of today’s hottest artists, dominating multiple charts and radio formats. Ricky executive produced and co-wrote Meghan Trainor’s album Thank You (including smash singles “NO” and “Me Too”) and Phantogram’s album Three (including hit “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore”)and produced eight songs on twenty one pilots‘ platinum album Blurryface, including #1 hit “Ride.” He is also behind hits like Fitz and the Tantrums’ “HandClap,” Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty,” Pitbull’s “Fireball,” Fifth Harmony’s “BO$$,” 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Girls Talk Boys,” and Lunchmoney Lewis’ “I Got Bills,” and has recently worked with Lizzo, Pussy Riot, D.R.A.M., DJ Snake, Dej Loaf and more. Ricky’s label Nice Life Recording Company, which is based out of his Elysian Park, CA studio compound, recently released Pussy Riot’s xxx EP in conjunction with Dave Sitek’s Federal Prism and Big Deal Music as well as Lizzo’s Coconut Oil EP under Atlantic Records.
