Doc Robinson has premiered a new song, entitled “I’m Not Gone,” and announced a forthcoming full-length album, scheduled for release in May 2017. The band celebrated with a sold-out show at A&R Bar in their hometown, Columbus.
Co-songwriter, Nick D’Andrea, offered insight into the concept:
“The essence of the story is a couple on the rocks… there is a lot of love and history, but it runs very hot and cold. There’s some disillusionment about lasting love, but the final word is that there’s something they both still believe in. The outro is the real heart of the song; it’s the resolve to make it work.”
Longtime friends and fairly new collaborators, Jon Elliott of The Floorwalkers and Nick D’Andrea of Nick D’ and The Believers strayed from their respective roots in funk pop and alternative to create the sprightly sound of Doc Robinson. The indie pop duo enjoyed a combustive beginning in 2016, collaborating with Mike Landolt (OAR, Maroon 5, Spin Doctors) to produce their debut EP, Golden Daze. The shimmering collection earned Doc Robinson early praise from music blogs and support slots for indie favorites, Rainbow Kitten Surprise and CAAMP.
