Jamie Isaac Announces US Tour, To Release ‘Couch Baby (Revisited)’, Releases Alicia Keys Cover of “Un-Thinkable”

Jamie Isaac released one of the UK’s most acclaimed debut albums last year, Couch Baby, and now due to climactic demand he will be visiting the U.S. for the very first time in support of this body-of-work. A revisited version of the album will be released via Marathon Artists to coincide with this voyage, it features a host of new tracks including his stunning cover of Alicia Keys’ “Un-thinkable” alongside remixes featuring a veritable who’s who of hip hop’s zeitgeist from Wiki and Sporting Life (formerly of RATKING), to Kanye and Spooky Black collaborator Allan Kingdom, Florida new gun Denzel Curry, and the assurgent Salomon Faye. This repackage echoes Jamie’s Loose Grip mixtape which featured comrades, tour mates and collaborators King Krule and Rejjie Snow and was launched with a legendary JI-hosted Boiler Room last summer. Having gained notoriety over the last couple of years with a series of EPs and collaborations, Isaac now finally paints his vision in vivid colors; the scope and scale of his quiet ambition writ beautifully large across his wonderful debut Couch Baby.

Jamie Isaac’s stunning take on Alicia Key’s “Un-thinkable” is a beautiful extension of his unique brand of soulful down-tempo electronica, established on his debut LP Couch Baby. Meticulously crafted, Isaac’s glistening piano, laid-back beat and soothing dulcet vocal provide the perfect antidote to midwinter melancholia.

Further to the additions to Couch Baby (Revisited) are the critically acclaimed singles from its predecessor, 1st single “Last Drip” which was accompanied by a trippy visual from the Grammy nominated A$AP Rocky videographer Dexter Navy and described by Hunger as “a production masterclass“, and 2nd single “Find The Words” which Complex described as “an aching, ponderous number that flirts with soul, jazz, and ambient electronics” and which Pitchfork heralded as “proof that Isaac is a talented songwriter with great capacity for restraint… Find The Words waxes and wanes from smouldering downtempo to pure ambience and back, with layers of UK garage percussion sprinkled throughout.”
