I’m very well thanks, glad to have some new music out in the world.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Stuntman”?
The character of Stuntman is a being in metamorphosis. My friend recently named his band ‘Guerrilla Mystics’ and I think this describes the stuntman well. He is an agitator and a guide, existing somewhere between Joseph Campbell, David Copperfield, Maharishi and Ouroboros. He’s an impatient voice in our collective evolution.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
I was exploring a lot of ideas around the cosmic mind and consciousness as non – local. At some point the best podium for our inherent genius became a guy who eats himself live on CNN.
How was the film experience?
Like bungee jumping onto a rhino.
Why naming the album after this track in particular?
I think it’s the strongest theme on the album and seems to self – incept into me and the process of making the album.
How was the recording and writing process?
Writing is always beautiful. Recording not so much. I had an idea to get some gear together and learn to record, thinking it would buy me time to inform the writing and vice versa. But it’s a dark art. It was gruelling but it got easier and I’m a better writer for having ridden the gauntlet.
What stories are you telling on this album?
Many, ranging from interstellar romance to machiavellian figures and lost souls. Tales of war, tales of the heart and of the mind.
Any plans to hit the road?
Definitely, we’re starting to book the next shows. Bookers of the world hit us up.
What else is happening next in Eugene Twist’s world?
Talking to some labels for a physical release. More videos. I may do more of my Kaleidoscopic Circus night with some new performers. Keep your eyes peeled…
