Hi Stogey, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
I’m fine thanks, how are you? Thanks for having me!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “V. I. P.”?
V.I.P is my first single released under E.B records, I’d say its a catchy and easy to listen to kind of tune. The song is about going out clubbing, getting into drama, chatting up girls and just the vibe of being out.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
I wouldn’t really say any event inspired me to make the song, but the song is about your typical night out clubbing.
How was the film experience?
We had radio the night before so it was a long day, It was freezing from the sea breeze temperatures and we didn’t stop shooting till crazy times in the morning, but it was a fun day and everything went as planned.
Why naming the record after this track in particular?
I think V.I.P was a good word to summarize the song.
How was the recording and writing process?
The recording process was smooth, the lyrics came to me easily because the content of the song relates to my life and going out on most weekends.
After being on the Grime scene for a while – what have you learned from your experiences?
That nothing comes to you without hard work, Consistency is the key and you can’t expect anything to happen to overnight, its all about the grafting and workrate.
Musically, would you call this a departure or a follow up to what you have been doing so far?
I would call this a beginning, I’m part of a new movement, I feel I have a new mind state, its a new year and I am coming with new music.
Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?
The songs inpired by my lifestyle, going out most weekends, buying bottles and linking girls
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes, I will be doing several radio tours and stage show tours throughout the year.
What else is happening next in Stogey’s world?
Release after release, video after video and work after work.
