It’s that time of year again and the Mighty Mighty BossToneS are gearing up to throw the biggest party of the holiday season. The HomeTown ThrowDown has become a BossToneS tradition for the band and fans alike. To make the 19th ThrowDown even more special the BossToneS are giving the show an international vibe inviting support bands that include, The Skatalites from Jamaica and The Planet Smashers from Canada on December 28, The Pokers from Australia and Peelander-Z from Japan on December 29 and The Skints from England and Los Kung-Fu Monkeys from Mexico on December 30.

“I literally scoured the globe to bring an eclectic, international array of talent to the Throwdown this year. Please join us in celebrating the whole wide world and let’s throwdown again” —explains bass player Joe Gittleman

Last but certainly not least, the band is excited to tell you about a limited edition 7” single they will be releasing in the new year – their version of the song “What the World Needs Now Is Love” (produced by Lawrence Katz and the BossTones and mixed by Paul Kolderie) featuring an unreleased original BossToneS song “I Won’t Go Out Like That” as the B-side. “What the World Needs Now Is Love” was originally released in 1965 with lyrics by Hal David and music composed by Burt Bacharach. “It’s a message and/or a reminder that we would like to share with the world for the holidays during these seemingly difficult and trying times. The song doesn’t take a side but it definitely takes a stance.” – says frontman Dicky Barrett

As a gift to all the people that have supported the band they are giving the song away for free for a limited time.

Get it here:

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone”
