PREMIERE: Sleep Machine Release New Acoustic Video For “The Holy Ones”

In what it could be considered an unordinary Christmas song (?), Sleep Machine are back with a warming looking acoustic video for “The Holy Ones”, that captures the excitement of the original song in a stripped down version.

About the song, the band comments

We’ve never really experimented with playing our songs acoustically, but it was through a friends recommendation that we started exploring. ‘The Holy Ones’ is one of our favorite songs off of our sophomore EP ‘Animal High’. We wrote it after reading the book The Simple Road by Dr. Obadiah Harris, president and CEO of the University of Philosophical Research in Los Feliz. In it he describes the obstacles that must be faced as a part of spiritual growth. He goes on to share that walking a true spiritual path is a great challenge, where hostile forces and darkness must be met in order to “make the aspirant ready for the spiritual descent and transformation.” They force us to seek a greater strength, and a faith that can not be wavered. ‘The Holy Ones’ is a call to all of the trailblazers out there who have chosen to walk down that path, to empower them with strength, hope and an unwavering faith. Recording this song acoustically added a whole other layer of grit and depth that we are excited to share with our fans!
