Today, breaking duo The Last Artful, Dodgr & Neill Von Tally premiere “Caverns”, the second track and first visual, from their highly anticipated forthcoming debut album Bone Music via Mass Appeal.  The song feature’s Dodgr’s signature raw, soulful, unmistakable voice mixed with dark, spacious electronic production handled by Tally and is now available for purchase on iTunes and can be streamed via Spotify.  “Caverns is the perfect introduction to what is to come from the rest of the album, as far as what you are going to get sonically. It is super cold feeling and has a lot of melody and then it hits you out of nowhere with bars,” said Dodgr on the song.  Tally told Mass Appeal “The production on Caverns is somewhat cold and mechanical, I wanted to create a minimalistic space that Dodgr’s voice could shine through while also taking the listener to a specific cavernous place. I used sounds I recorded such as pick axes and field recordings from caves to help create this space. The engineer Justin Longerbeam that worked on this record with Dodgr and I also had a hand in helping design the space this song exists in.”  Watch the aesthetically innovative visuals here.

Mass Appeal says, “When you think of some of the greats in hip hop–Biggie, Tupac, Nas, Hov, Slick Rick–aside from their lyrics, flows, and other points on the checklist of a great emcee, each had a recognizable voice. Once one of them said a word on the mic, you could tell who it was. Having a unique sound is the least of The Last Artful, Dodgr’s worries.”
