Southern California political rock outfit Fellow Robot have just released a new single titled, “The Tools of War.” The band released the track with the hope of raising awareness for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Aleppo. Fellow Robot have made the single available for download on their official site, and are also taking donations that will be made to the American Refugee Committee’s efforts in Aleppo. Fans can listen to “The Tools of War” here.
The band had this to say about the impassioned track: “The song was written for the children of Aleppo, Syria. [We] started writing the song Late September 2016 after 100 children died during heavy bombardment of Aleppo by Russian and Syrian military forces. During that deadly week over 338 lives were lost, 846 injured and among those that were injured, 261 children were expected to die for lack of treatment. Through much research and human documentation we have followed the trials and tribulations of Bana Alabed, a seven year old girl living in war-stricken Aleppo. Every day is a blessing that they she is alive. Her family has no home, no sanctuary, and only some small rations and a cell phone tweeting their accounts. Fellow Robot hopes that we can help Bana Alabed and her mother’s voice be heard.”
Fellow Robot will be releasing their debut album and novel The Robot’s Guide to Music in the coming months. The album will feature “Tools of War” and their previously released election-charged track, “Bernie T-Shirt”. The novel is a historical sci-fi memoir written by Fellow Robot documenting the human experience from his perspective.
