Hi ECKOES , welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Great thanks!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Blue Deep”?

It’s my 2nd single, a chilled trip- hoppy track, with an awesome remix by Pablo Nouvelle that’s worth checking out.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

I was  in that drawn out aftermath period of a relationship where you’re battling with what you want and what’s good for you

How was the film experience?

I took the video concept to Matt Oakley, and he just got it straight away . You know when you go to someone with a rough idea and they come back with something better than you could have even dreamed up? Yeah, that.

How was the recording and writing process?

So fluid, really quick. Dee Adam, Raph Aletti and I wrote the song in a long afternoon. I did a guide vocal that day intending to come back to it, then we listened to it again and decided not to change a thing. So that’s my demo vocal on there.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else than when you are writing on your own material?

Yeah, when I write on my own I tend to start with lyrics. When I’m collaborating, I like to feel what the mood in the room is 1st and see what feels like it should be written that day. When I write dance toplines, I always start with the producers beat.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Yes you can! I’ve finished an entire body of work and will be releasing new stuff throughout 2017

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Mid February.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes! 2017 will be the year of the van!

What else is happening next in Eckoes’ world?

I’ve written & feature on 2 tracks on Alex Banks’ new album out next year. Now’s an exciting time because festivals  start curating their line ups so I’m filling up next summer’s diary. I’m looking forward to doing some more radio soon too – I’m flying back from Amsterdam to play some songs on the Gigslutz ‘Get In Her Ears’ show in January. Also writing with some new exciting people. So yeah, keeping busy!
