Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Thank you! We are excited to be with you guys.  We are great.  We are ready to get this EP out to the world.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “My Dear”?

My Dear is a call of hope to those feeling lost or overwhelmed in life and purpose(especially with the current political climate of our country).  The marching groove was something that  developed as we were writing it and it added to the anthemic feel.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

It was actually first written by Jake as a simple tune to sing to his daughter when she was upset before it evolved into what it is now.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

There is a live performance video of My Dear coming out this week with a little more laid back feel that we really love.

The single comes off your new album Back to Life – what’s the story behind the title?

Back To Life comes from the title of one of the songs on the album which is about a re-energizing of life through love and hope.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was great!  We worked out of a few great studios with some engineers that we know and love and we also have our own studio that allows us to experiment with crazy ideas whenever we want.

What role did Philly plays in your music?

Well, Jake and Jamie’s dad was a Philly musician and he mentored us for years and helped us develop our harmony and writing.  Philly is also know for “The Gamble and Huff Sound” which we are directly connected to having worked with Leon Huff for many years.  Not to mention most of our musicians on this EP are Philly guys so they brought their own vibe to it  as well.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

We have some intense discussions in this band while traveling together or hanging around in the studio and we find ourselves asking a lot of questions about the world and life.  We are also big fans of artists and music that has something “real” to say and maybe that has corrupted us into caring about what message we put out there ha ha ha.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes we are hoping to be on some type of tour soon.

What else is happening next in Jutaun’s world?

We are writing more and more and our sound is continuing to evolve.  We hope to put out a full length album along with more videos in the near future.
