Chicago-bred duo Krewella (sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf) have released a brand new track “Team” today. The girls have also unleashed a new visual for the song – watch HERE. “Team” is available now via the above DSPs.
“This song is going to mean different things to everyone who hears it, but we wrote it from the perspective of not needing validation from anyone but your own self to feel good – not wasting time on people who will disrespect you over & over again – and just in general, shedding the negativity in your life. This song is not ‘no new friends’ it is ‘only real ones.’” – Yasmine
With “Team,” Krewella goes back to their roots with their signature dance-infused pop sound, and the half-Pakistani sisters also incorporate a Bollywood influence in their latest single. After releasing the dark and reflective EP Ammunition, which Nylon felt “adds a nostalgic alt-rock layer to their signature sound,” the new single sees Jahan and Yasmine returning to their care-free side, further cementing their versatility as artists and songwriters.
