Dos Floris Releases New Music Video For “Water”

Florence Donovan, aka Dos Floris, is an artist whose resolve and inspiration in the face of adversity is nothing short of remarkable. Music has been a part of her life since a very young age, but it wasn’t until a struggle with and recovery from anorexia that she was able to fully immerse herself in her career, “The Widowed Earth” charts this journey & culminates in a restoration towards restoring her equilibrium.

After relocating from the UK to Italy, Dos Floris bounced between genres, formations and bands, all with moderate success. Her true transformation came when she decided to strike out as a solo artist. Her method was unconventional, but chock full of inspiration. In what she refers to as “Harry Potter style,” she spent 3 years under the staircase at home writing, producing, and recording what would become The Widowed Earth. “The result is a hypnotic genre defying cinematic soundscape of an album, her “pieces are much sound sculptures as they are songs.” (Huffington Post)

“Water” is a gorgeous, bucolic convergence of the human spirit and nature. The soothing clip focuses on Dos Floris amongst the moss covered stones and passive river flowing beneath her in the forest. Lovingly shot and directed by Mediamorphose, each scene is carefully constructed to find the perfect framing for Dos. Her wardrobes range from exquisite feathered garments to the most basic essentials, each one representing a stage in a personal journey and metamorphosis she is undertaking before our eyes. It’s hard to watch “Water” and not be overcome by a genuine sense of serenity and introspection, as Dos Floris so masterfully delivers.Another fabulous review from MissGlitter (fashion, music & lifestyle blogger) Glitter & Stillettos “Water” is another enchanting number that expresses heartfelt songwriting. A beautiful piano accompaniment accentuates the performance as dos floris’ vocals seem to endure until infinity”. The visual element to this music serves to further enhance & tell the story of this woman’s personal journey which will surely resonate with those working through their own personal struggles as well as those resonating with the pure immersive indulgence of escaping from the humdrum of ordinary existence into a magical wonderland of possibilities, the land of timeless transcendence. A Dos Floris fan relates “Dos Floris is a beautiful artist, that one album has seen me through highs and lows of this year.” Rachel Malloch (Dos Floris Fan)
