The festival includes two afternoons of talks, workshops, and panel discussions led by: Ruidosa, SoundGirls.org, Music for Pictures (Alicen Schneider, NBCUniversal), Madame Gandhi, Women in Media (Andrea Domanick, Noisey), Dannielle Owens-Reid, Radical Aliveness (Jennifer Huang), Ableton Controllerism (Laura “Alluxe” Escudé), and Rock’n’Roll Camp for Girls LA.

This year, GIRLSCHOOL embarks on our first special collaborations with Ilse Valfré, Society6, production designer Kerstin Hovland, and food curator Lesley Suter, a two-times James Beard Award-winner and Food Editor of Los Angeles Magazine.

GIRLSCHOOL is a Los Angeles-based women-led music festival, online platform, and collective that celebrates and connects women artists, leaders, and voices. Founded by Anna Bulbrook (Airborne Toxic Event/Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros/The Bulls) in response to how few women she saw onstage in the alternative rock world, GIRLSCHOOL has grown into a vibrant volunteer community of women in music who connect to create an empowering community for one another while supporting women and girls. A portion of the proceeds from every ticketed GIRLSCHOOL event benefits a girl-positive 501c3 organization.

Rock’n’Roll Camp for Girls LA is a social justice organization that uses loud music to nurture self-esteem and self-expression in young girls.

From today through the festival, Lyft will donate $10 to Rock’N’Roll Camp for Girls LA for every new user who takes their first ride using code GIRLSROCK

Sponsors include: Nasty Gal, KROQ Locals Only, Bedrock.LA, Lyft, Sid The Cat presents, and Fender Guitars.
