Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Doing good! Doing cold at the moment though… and trying to stave off full-blown Christmas mode. Only allowing myself one festive-type drink from Starbucks until December. Then it’s eat/drink time.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Faults”?
Of course! It’s 3 minutes 42 seconds worth of succinct big-drum pop. With lots of jangly/plucky guitars and a dirty synth hook for good measure. Lyrically it’s about realising that everybody has faults, and that’s fine as long as you can learn from them.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
Not really any one event, it’s more a realisation the older I get that no-one is perfect; everyone has flaws in their character – and that’s great – it’s what makes everyone human.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Yes! It’s out soon… soon enough that I’ll be drinking cinnamon spiced lattes from Starbucks when it premiers.
How was the recording and writing process?
Long, challenging, and remote. But ultimately massively rewarding.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
You can… we’re preparing for a pretty excessive release schedule next year…
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Probably going to be end of January… although we’re unsure which track is going out next.
What personal struggles are you exploring on this album?
The usual; day to day struggles of being human: relationships, anxiety, money, life etc.
Any plans to hit the road?
Of course… Nothing we can say yet… but I’m hoping to put our transit to good use over the next few months.
What else is happening next in ISLE’s world?
Christmas. And more writing. And spiced coffee drinks.
