International hip-hop/electro trio, No Wyld, will release their Columbia Records debut album ‘Nomads’ on November 25th, 2016.
With No Wyld’s diverse cultural, racial, and religious background, the group releases ‘Nomads’ in hopes of reaching a divided nation after November’s controversial U.S presidential election. No Wyld reflects and represents the dissatisfaction and optimism of their generation with the current state of affairs.
The sound and culture of hip hop have historically been regionalized and represented through an artist’s city and hometown affiliation. No Wyld serves as a turning point in this tradition. The now Brooklyn based trio originally met in New Zealand and have learned to embrace their lack of a home. Their debut album “Nomads” explores the concept of belonging, their nomadic upbringings, and the often turbulent journey to triumph.
‘Nomads’ features nimble, layered production steeped in lush vocals; a hypnotic blend of alternative, hip hop and soulful, ethereal influences. The diverse array of songs on the album includes the percolating “Paranoid,” the anthemic “Let Me Know,” the hip hop-tinged “Gone”, and the infectious, finger-snapping pop lament “Grown Up,” among others.
