Thanks for having me! I’m too blessed to be stressed.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Bomb Love”?
When you sit and wait for love, it may never find you. However, if you dare to pull the trigger you might just set off the bomb. The inspiration behind this song was acting on the love that you wish you had, because you never know what might cross your path, if you just try.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
I’ve experienced Bomb Love before and there’s nothing like it. Deep down we all want it, but sometimes we don’t admit it to ourselves, which makesit easier to cope with not having it. When I finally conquered that mindset I was set free.
How was the film experience?
My guys at Dreamroca did an outstanding job; everyone involved really went above and beyond! It was easily some of the best few days I’ve had in recent memory.
What was it like to work with Bourbon and how did that relationship develop?
Bourbon and I met back in Miami, and now we’re in LA working with the same people. I’m super thankful that we connected again, especially with that golden voice of hers!
How was the recording and writing process?
Recording with Bourbon was quite the experience! We have a very sibling dynamic with each other, so we admittedly clashed at times when we were pushing each other to do our best. Everything aside, the creative process was worth any frustration. She’s an incredible woman and I feel super privileged to have her on the track!
How has your upbringing have influence your music?
I know it sounds cliche, but I really came from nothing. I was lucky enough to have a front row seat seeing Pitbulls transition from local rapper to “Mr. Worldwide.” Since seeing that transition, I’ve made it a personal mission to spread peace, respect and good times through my music in order to bring people out of the darkness and into the light.
Do you take a different approach when you collaborate with someone else than when you are writing your own material?
Absolutely, I imagine them on stage or on the radio in front of their audience. From there I tailor the music fit their personal voice.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how‘s that coming along? I have so much music that I’m dying to release! However, I’m dropping everything spaced out so each track gets the attention it deserves. It also helps that given enough time, I can effectively analyze the response from my fans to figure out what hits the hardest. I’m confident that if you’re into “Bomb Love” you’ll love what else I have in store!
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
You can expect something around December for sure.
Any plans to hit the road?
I have a few more big things planned before hitting the road since “Bomb Love” is my first official release. As soon as my audience has enough time to sit with the music and let it marinate, I’ll be sure to get out there!
What else is happening next in Gavriel Rafael’s world?
I’m headed to the studio to tighten up a few smash hits!
