DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS Premiere “Surrender Under Protest” Video On Election Day, Live World Cafe Performance Begins at 2 PM EST

Drive-By Truckers released its provocative and critically acclaimed album American Band on September 30th and have now unveiled the official music video for the volatile track “Surrender Under Protest” HERE, just in time for Election Day via Pitchfork TV.

Directed by Lance Bangs (Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Neutral Milk Hotel) the video is a portrait of today’s working class America. In it the band performs at the foot of Mississippi Avenue under the Fremont Bridge in Portland, Oregon, during the first rain of the season. Fans can also tune in HERE to a special Election Day World Café Live performance with host David Dye at 2 pm EST today.

“Concise, laser-focused, and brutally efficient,” said Slant. “The band displays a new level of clear-eyed purpose and here-and-now urgency on AMERICAN BAND. Eloquently plainspoken as ever about the pressing issues we face as a nation, they’ve made an album multiple decades into their career that establishes them as more directly relevant than ever.”
