British indie rockers King No-One have revealed their infectious new single ‘Alcatraz’, out November 11th via Lab Records. The track premiered with Clash who raved about its “fizzing hooks, buoyant energy, and tonnes of charm.”
‘Alcatraz’ is an upbeat indie pop charmer. The single writhes with a funky bassline and shimmers with bright guitars among vibrant danceable beats, giving the likes of The 1975 and Don Broco a run for their money.
The dynamic Yorkshire four-piece – consisting of frontman Zach Lount, Joe Martin (lead guitar), Alex Townsley (bass) and James Basille (drums) – have been capturing the hearts of music fans across the country. ‘Alcatraz’ follows their previous single ‘Halo’, a powerful dancefloor anthem with a huge chorus that showcases their versatile songwriting capabilities.
Their ever-growing support has seen the band championed by various radio DJs including Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), Dermot O’Leary (BBC Radio 2), Dan O’Connell (Radio X) and Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music), as well as seeing them secure a spot on BBC Radio 1’s Best of BBC Introducing List 2015 with their track ‘Constellations’.
National TV and online tastemakers have also picked up on the band with their music videos gaining exposure on the likes of Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and previous singles ‘Foreign Tongue’, ‘Constellations’ and ‘Stay Close’ hitting top 3 spots on Hype Machine.
Not only have King No-One impressed on the airwaves, they have been conquering the stage, gaining bigger and bigger audiences with each show and blowing away crowds across the UK with their explosive live performances.
The band have played packed-to-the-rafter shows supporting Embrace on two sold-out UK Academy tours and also clocked up memorable appearances at festivals such as Reading and Leeds, The Great Escape (BBC Introducing Showcase), Live At Leeds, Dot-To-Dot and a headlining Club NME show at the iconic KOKO in Camden.
Having just sold out their own UK headline tour, King No-One will be back on the road for a second headline run this December, due to fan demand. All shows are 14+ and the tour includes a show at London’s Boston Music Rooms on Friday 9th Dec.
Making an undeniable mark as one of the exciting, ‘must see’ bands for 2017, King No-One are set to be exploding across the musical landscape next year.
