The Little Kicks first emerged around five years ago, a young Aberdeen band with the wind in their sails.
A crisp, upbeat debut album followed, laced with off kilter indie pop worth comparing to early Franz Ferdinand, The Long Blondes, or even Sparks. Then, the band took some time off to reassess, re-jig their personnel, and are now ready to stake their return…
New cut ‘You & Someone Like Me’ is the first single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming new album, recorded across two weeks in a lodge on Loch Ness. The track’s accompanying visuals took over 100 hours to complete, and features The Little Kicks re-cast as a crew of skeletons. Intricate and amusing, you can watch the video in full HERE
Lead singer Steve Milne commented; “The video came from a day of very much unplanned green screen experimentation which was a lot of fun. The only requirement of us was to “perform” and to look lively which we did our best at. However, with the addition of some freestyling from my sister (a trained dancer) and 100 hours of editing work by the video company we now have what we consider to be a pretty unique video that compliments the song perfectly!”
