Rousseau Release New Single ‘Sugar Plum’

Rousseau declares herself an imperfect everywoman on her beguiling debut release, ‘Sugar Plum’. A raw honesty and satirical take on working life immediately mark her out as something special, however when this is mixed with a pop sensibility and layered, slow-burning production, it puts her in rarefied company; an independent pop artist addressing female stereotypes and twenty-something angst. The first release from her upcoming debut EP “hello, i know you’re busy”, “Sugar Plum” recalls in parts the likes of St Vincent, Lykke Li, Sia and Courtney Barnett; a whip-smart slice of confessional dark pop, and a taste of Rousseau’s unorthodox, playful style.
