Mark ‘Wilkinson’ brings us the ultimate end of Summer anthem in “Sweet Lies” feat. Karen Harding; a sure-fire hit, that further cements Wilkinson as one of the most dominant names in the UK Dance scene. Premiered via Annie Mac as her Hottest Record In The World on Radio 1 Friday night.
Now he returns with the ibiza-led, Nicky Jay-directed visual for the single, which truly brings the record to life. Following two girls to the White Isle as they seek to mend a broken heart, the visual sits Wilkinson in his element; creating epic Summer anthems that sit as well in the sunshine, as they do in the club. Reminding us of the Summer months that we’re all truly missing right now, Wilkinson’s “Sweet Lies” is emotive and addictive in equal measure.
Speaking on the single, Wilkinson states: “I loved working with Karen on this record! Her vocal-range is incredible and when she sung the chorus it blew me away. With the keys on the intro, I wanted to touch on that ‘old skool’ 90’s rave sound – that’s always been a real influence to me. With the single out now in the month of September, hopefully we we’ll have an Indian Summer to rave to!”
Karen, who is recognized for her sizeable stand-out Whitney esq vocal talents, top 10 smash ‘Say Something’ and her most recent collaboration with Tough Love adds: “I Love to work on different music styles, so was very excited when I got the opportunity to work with and co-write Sweet Lies with Wilkinson. I love his music, so I was happy that our styles could collide!!”
‘Sweet Lies’ follows on from four Top 40 singles for Wilkinson, including his top-ten, smash single “Afterglow”, which saw worldwide success – selling 400,000 copies, with 100 Million global streams.
Hailed as one of the brightest stars in dance music, Wilkinson’s debut album Lazers Not Included went to Number 1 on the iTunes Dance Chart in ten different countries, and saw him consequently touring right across the globe.
Now in 2016, Wilkinson has headlined festival stages with his LIVE show at Wireless, Nass, Boardmasters, Parklife, and this weekend’s V Festival, as well as numerous festival DJ dates and completing his own Ibiza residency at Together at Amnesia. Not set with this globe-trotting domination, Wilkinson also sold-out his own LIVE UK headline tour this Spring including his homecoming London show at The Forum, Kentish Town. He has also announced his 2017 tour dates, alongside the title of his forthcoming album Hypnotic.
Having remixed and collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, The Prodigy, Chase & Status, Naughty Boy, Wretch 32, Katy B and Laura Mvula, Wilkinson has previously scooped ‘Best Single’, ‘Best Album’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Producer’ and ‘Best Live Act’ at the National Drum & Bass Awards, not to mention the VEVO Viewers Award at the MVA’s.
