RALPH RELEASE NEW SONG ‘BUSY MAN’

RALPH returns again, as impressive as ever in the songwriting department where she captures painfully real emotion on new song ‘Busy Man‘.  This heart-pouring three-and-a-half minute cut offers more of the 70’s-meets-80’s tinged disco we’ve come to expect from the Toronto-based songstress.  The newcomer plans to tie a bow on a great year with a six song debut EP release in January.

We’ve all fallen for a “busy” man/woman, who bails on plans and doesn’t call back” shares RALPH, continuing, “‘Busy Man’ is about vulnerability but it’s also about personal strength.

The forthcoming EP also features ‘Cold To The Touch‘, a track DIY Mag labelled “80’s nodding without being a mere tribute, its a flashy, glossy glimpse of the future” and  ‘Something More’, a banger inspired by Aziz Ansari’s Netflix show ‘Master of None’, who RALPH described earlier this year as “a show that honestly narrates the existential issues faced by young adults now. Consumed with social media and dating apps, we’re obsessed with the idea of something more or someone better, often leading us to sabotage the good things we have.

RALPH (aka Raffa Weyman) spent much of her childhood covered in facial glitter and feather boas, singing along to Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Prince, and the Temptations, and developing an early appreciation for the sounds and styles of the past. Striving to create a unique sound that blends disco, pop, synth, and smooth soul (think Sade meets Donna Summer meets Stevie Nicks), RALPH blends funky 1970’s bass with 1980’s style pop keys, while staying contemporary through vocal melodies and fresh synth sounds. Most importantly, RALPH’s catchy dance tunes stay true to her narrative songwriting style, containing strong lyrical content that tell stories of jealousy, lust, deception, and strength.

Stay tuned for more news on her debut EP shortly, but until then further information on RALPH can be found on her
