Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
We’ve been really well! Thank you for having us!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Distractions”?
Distractions was our first single from our latest EP ‘Human’, we think that it represents the sound of the EP really well, which is why we decided to release it first.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
The lyrics are based around the idea of growing up without being able to concentrate or focus on one thing, we thought that being distracted is very relatable to a lot of people too.
How was the film experience?
Very different for us, we worked with Incline Creative Media who are awesome, and it was the first video we had ever had a full production for. It was something we really had fun putting it all together.
The single comes off your new EP Human – what’s the story behind the title?
We thought that all the songs and ideas were relatable to all people and not just people who like our kind of genre. All the songs on the EP are relatable in someway to other people, so we decided to call it ‘Human’.
How was the recording and writing process?
When we were writing the EP it was a long one, we are all somewhat perfectionists, so one day we’ll love an idea then two weeks later, it’ll be completely changed but for the better of course. We worked with Natt Webb on this EP and he’s really talented, he knew what we wanted from the start and really made the songs come to life.
What aspect of humanity did you get to explore on this record?
We tried to be as diverse as we possibly could with the concept, so we tried to kind of get in to other people’s heads and put ourselves in different situations that most people experience everyday.
Any plans to hit the road?
Of course, all will be revealed soon…
What else is happening next in Light The Skies’ world?
We’ll be playing a handful of shows as it gets closer to the end of the year, we have some cool projects we’ll be throwing out there too, so keep your eyes pealed.
