Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
We are good, slightly road worn, but itching to release our EP to the world now!
Can you talk to us more about your single “Vertical Sleep”?
Vertical Sleep is a story about the adventures Donald Trump’s hair gets up to while he’s sleeping. Or maybe it’s a song lamenting a life of being overworked and underpaid, who could say?
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
Most of our tracks were written over a pretty intense period of songwriting for us. We had booked our first UK tour in March and when we started in February we had no songs whatsoever. So for the entire month we spent every possible hour we could spare in the studio to write, and we somehow managed to write enough songs for our set just in time for the tour!
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Yes! The video for Vertical Sleep is in the final stages of editing and we’re hoping it should be released by mid-November.
How was the recording and writing process?
We had a great time recording our EP, it was a pleasure to work with Fruit Trade Music on recording and mixing and mastering with Lee Batiuk. Our writing is very collaborative, we usually enter the studio with absolutely nothing with a bit of luck and after a few hours of jamming we’ll often have the bare bones of a new song together.
Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?
Our influences and inspirations come from so many sources, it’s often hard to be specific on what inspired us. While our songs are rarely autobiographical, it’s usually observations from day to day life that really inspire us.
Any plans to hit the road?
We haven’t confirmed all the details yet, but we’re likely to be out on the road playing a whole bunch of shows in early 2017.
What else is happening next in Indigo Bones’ world?
We have lots planned for the upcoming months, from shows to more recording. Check out our social media pages or on indigobones.co.uk for the latest updates on our adventures.
