GRAMMY award-winning musician Anna Wise, who received a GRAMMY for her collaboration work on Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp A Butterfly, has recently released her debut EP Feminine: Act I to much acclaim. The project is a powerful womanhood and feminist stance, touching on subjects like wage equality, slut-shaming and feminine sensuality. Anna teamed up once again with screenwriter and director Emma Kanter to create the memorable, story-plotted music video for alt-pop single “Go,” which premiered on W Magazine. PRESS HERE TO WATCH. Following a religious clergy, a priest and his nuns, the video offers a satirical spin on a traditional church setting. The nuns break from their conservative roles for more “unorthodox” activities such as break dancing, partying, and taking on an all-around rebellious attitude.
In support of the new project, Anna will perform at LA‘s Voila! Gallery on October 14th for the Queens of the New Age with special appearances also by Arima Ederra and Nia Andrews. PRESS HERE to buy tickets.
