Rising singer-songwriter Aleem has been announced as the opening act for US girl band sensation Fifth Harmony on their UK and Irish tour starting on October 4th in Dublin, Ireland at 3 Arena and concluding at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena on 12th October.
Fresh from the success of his debut US single ‘Find Out’ – released earlier this year and produced by Carly Rae Jepsen-collaborator Ryan Stewart, alongside fellow Canadian producer Jon Levine – responsible for penning hit singles by Cher Lloyd, Nelly Furtado and more recently Dua Lipa’s ‘Blow Your Mind (Mwah)’, the talented Juno Award-winning and Platinum-selling songwriters teamed up to work on Aleem’s upcoming EP ‘Open Letters’.
Catching the attention of rappers T.I, Jadakiss and Lil Wayne favourite video director Philly Fly Boy, the LA-based artist shows off his acting skills in the visuals accompanying the honest heartbreak anthem – “I thought I knew you better. How could you think you’d ever get away with this” – sings Aleem, dazzling the camera.
A self-taught musician, Aleem was Inspired by the recordings of acclaimed artist Ed Sheeran’s sessions with Grammy-Award-winning producer Craig Bauer discovered on YouTube. After contacting the producer about a potential collaboration, who impressed by Aleem’s demos invited him to his studio to co-write a handful of songs, the young artist found himself catapulted in front of some of the most important figures in the music industry.
Having spent the past year recording his debut album – co-written and co-produced with a team of multi-platinum songwriters and producers including Ryan Stweart, Jon Levine, Jessie J and The Chainsmokers-collaborator Scott Harris, and pop singer Anjulie – the talented singer-songwriter has recently supported pop-rap duo Jack & Jack during their USA tour culminating in a performance during last year’s SXSW Music Conference Festival.
The recent single offers the first taste of Aleem’s sound. And, with a string of international live dates a new EP coming up in November and a debut album in the pipeline for next year, he is set to be a real force to be reckoned with.
